It’s been a great year for sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

More and more forward-thinking companies around the world chose to incorporate environmental, social and governance-related (ESG) issues into their business strategies. In fact, 37% more companies disclosed their non-financial performance through the CDP in 2021 compared to last year.

Internationally, sustainability professionals welcomed the newly formed Value Reporting Foundation and the 26th edition of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).

And closer to home, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) announced it would open an office in Montreal, which we’re proud to say was recognized as a hub for sustainable finance.

The future of ESG reporting is looking bright!

These companies worked hard to become more sustainable

This year, more companies used our reporting platform to drive their sustainability strategy, stand out and share their achievements. Our hats go off to:

What’s more, 30% of the companies that we work with, including Air Transat, Desjardins, Énergir, Hydro-Québec, IAMGOLD, Kruger and the STM, are on the Corporate Knights’ 2021 list of Best 50 Canadian Corporate Citizens. Congrats!

We’d like to thank all the organizations that have gone above and beyond for sustainable development in 2021.

We made commitments that we’re proud of

Every day, we work with companies to help them become more sustainable and transparent, and we want to do our part in building a more sustainable future. So this year alone, we:

  • committed to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, not only to stay carbon neutral, but also to become climate positive
  • signed the UN’s Climate Neutral Now pledge
  • joined the SASB Alliance, the UN Global Compact and NAEM’s Affiliates Council of valued EHS&S partners
  • became an official TCFD supporter

We’re working on renewing our B Corp certification in 2022. Stay tuned!

We got involved in the community

In the spring, we collected over 4,000 cigarette butts in a local park. We then sent them over to TerraCycle to recycle them into street furniture.

And in the summer, most of our team headed over to Moisson Montréal, a non-profit food bank, to help package food.

We had a great time and plan on taking the time to volunteer again next year.

We attended events on two different continents

To stay up to date on sustainability and ESG reporting best practices, we took part in several online and in-person events, including:

  • Sustainable Brands 21 in San Diego
  • Produrable in Paris, where we hosted a workshop with Decathlon
  • the VRF Symposium, Integrate 21, GreenBiz 21 and GreenFin 21

It was so great to meet up in person again after two years!

We grew in more ways than one

Throughout the year, we honed our platform and created new tools to meet business’s needs. And as our software grew, so did our team — by over 50% compared to 2020! And we’re still hiring new talent.

We’re looking forward to sharing our work with you in 2022!

Sustainability is at the heart of each and every one of our decisions.
